Cooking Fire

At 12:54 PM on Friday January 27th High Point firefighters responded to a report of a cooking fire in a residence on Olin Deese Road. Firefighters arrived to find that the home owner had extinguished the fire by covering the pot and turning off the stove. The pot was removed from the stove and the area above and around the stove was checked for fire extension. The home sustained fire damage to the range hood above the stove as well as the wall behind the stove. The electrical supply for the stove was shut off and a ventilation fan was used to remove smoke from the kitchen.
