Wreck with Entrapment

Hwy 207 & N. Arant St.

High Point Fire, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 207 and North Arant St.

Upon arrival, responders found that a car had pulled into the path of a farm truck, resulting in a collision on the driver’s side. The impact forced part of the driver’s door 12 inches into the car, causing damage to the seat and trapping the driver.

Fire and Rescue personnel utilized the Jaws of Life from Engine 21 to successfully remove the driver’s door. Lifeguard EMS then treated and transported the driver to the helipad at Atrium Union in Monroe, NC. The patient was subsequently transferred to a helicopter for transportation to the trauma center in Charlotte, NC.

In managing the aftermath of the crash, over 20 pounds of oil dry were employed by firefighters to contain spilled fluids. Traffic on Hwy 207 was redirected, with northbound vehicles rerouted onto Dove Sutton Rd. and southbound traffic directed to N. Arant St.

The crash is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol.
