High Point Fire District responded to a request for mutual aid from Lancaster County during a wildfire incident on Highway 601 South near the intersection of Wintertide Drive. Upon arrival, Engine 21 and Brush 23 crews discovered a tree had fallen across power lines, igniting a wildfire on a steep hillside.
Lancaster County firefighters had already deployed a hose line from a brush truck up the hillside and were actively attacking the fire. High Point personnel supported the operation by supplying water from Engine 21 to the brush truck and deploying ladders to facilitate the safe movement of personnel and equipment up the challenging terrain.
Once the fire was extinguished High Point Fire District was released from the scene and returned to Chesterfield County.
