Multi-Vehicle Crash

High Point Fire, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 601 North and Mangum School Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters found three vehicles involved in the crash, with two sustaining moderate damage. Firefighters from Engine 11 and Engine 31 established blocking positions on the south and north sides of the scene, respectively, to ensure a safe working area for emergency personnel and patients.
Firefighters assessed all occupants for injuries and assisted EMS with on-site treatment and patient packaging. Due to the severity of the incident, Engine 21 was redirected to Walmart Distribution Center to establish a landing zone for a medical helicopter.
Lifeguard EMS transported two patients to Carolinas Medical Center, while a third patient was airlifted by Med Center Air. Firefighters remained on scene to assist tow operators with debris removal and to help reopen the highway to traffic.
The crash is under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
