Vehicle Fire

Highway 601 North at Mangum School Rd.

High Point Fire District and Lanes Creek Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire near the intersection of Highway 601 North and Mangum School Road.

Upon arrival, Lanes Creek Engine 111 and High Point Engine 31 found a SUV fully engulfed in flames in the paved median. Firefighters deployed a hose line from Engine 111 and used a combination of water and foam to bring the fire under control.

To ensure the safety of emergency personnel, all southbound traffic on Highway 601 was temporarily detoured onto Mangum School Road during the operation.
