High Point Fire District responded to a report of a lawn mower fire on Lester Hicks Circle. Engine 11 arrived on scene to find a Toro zero-turn mower with visible flames from the engine area.

Firefighters deployed a hose line and initiated fire suppression efforts. During the operation, the mower’s gas tank ruptured, releasing approximately five gallons of gasoline and intensifying the fire. Crews transitioned from water to foam to extinguish the burning fuel.

The owner of the mower reported that while mowing, he felt excessive heat on his neck and turned to discover the equipment engulfed in flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported
