Structure Fire

High Point Fire District, in coordination with auto-aid partners Pageland Fire Department, Ruby-Mt. Croghan Fire Department, and Lanes Creek Fire Department, responded to a residential structure fire on Horace Price Road, near the North Carolina state line.

High Point Engine 11 arrived to find an older home heavily engulfed in flames. Firefighters deployed two hose lines to begin suppression efforts. During the operation, ammunition stored inside the residence began igniting, creating additional hazards for personnel on scene.

Water supply was managed by multiple tankers shuttling approximately 24,000 gallons of water to Engine 11. One firefighter was transported by Union EMS to Atrium Union for evaluation due to chest pain. No other injuries were reported.

The resident was home when the fire started, but without access to a phone, he drove several miles to call 911 and report the emergency.
