Brush Fire Threatens Homes

The High Point Fire District responded to a report of a brush fire on Rollings Rd. Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered a brush fire threatening the rear of several homes. Engine 21 and Engine 11 established defensive positions between the advancing flames and the residences, deploying deck guns to suppress and halt the fire’s progress. Brush 23 and Brush 13 arrived and fully extinguishing the flames.

A hydrant at the intersection of Rollings Rd. and Hwy 151 was used to refill both engines before returning to the scene to support the brush trucks. In total 3,500 gallons of water were utilized in bringing the fire under control.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
