High Point Fire, along with Pageland Rescue and Lifeguard EMS, responded to a motorcycle crash on Airport Road near the Pageland Airport. A witness reported that the rider lost control, the motorcycle entered a ditch and became airborne, struck the upper portion of the airport perimeter fence, and came to rest inside the airport grounds. The witness climbed over the damaged fence to begin providing care to the rider.

Within approximately three minutes, a deputy and several High Point firefighters arrived on scene and continued patient care. Despite lifesaving efforts, the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

High Point Engine 31 remained on location to provide scene lighting and support for investigators from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Chesterfield County Coroner’s Office.
