Mobile Home Fire
Sanders Rd.
Saturday, April 18, 2026, 7:09 a.m.
The volunteers of the High Point Fire District, with auto-aid partners Sandhill and Pageland Fire Departments, responded to a reported structure fire on Sanders Rd. Crews arrived to find a mobile home with heavy fire involvement in the center section and extension into rooms on both ends of the home.
Engine 11 and Tanker 12 arrived first and initiated fire attack. Engine 11 operated its deck gun—flowing nearly 10 gallons of water per second—to knock down the main body of fire while firefighters advanced multiple hose lines to extinguish remaining fire inside the structure. Additional apparatus established water supply, shuttling water from a nearby hydrant.
Crews encountered an air gap in the home’s roofing system, which contributed to fire spread toward both ends of the residence and made portions of the fire difficult to access. An occupant reported discovering fire involving the front porch and front door and safely evacuating everyone from the home. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters returned to the station and spent approximately one and a half hours washing and repacking about 600 feet of attack and supply hose, refilling breathing air cylinders, and cleaning and disinfecting SCBA facepieces and equipment.
