Firefighter Injured at Wildfire

High Point Fire District responded to a report of a grass fire on Crowburk Rd. Engine 31, followed by Tanker 12, arrived to find a wind-driven grass fire spreading into nearby woodland. Firefighters advanced a hose line from Engine 31 across two barbed wire fences to reach and extinguish the fire.

During the operation, one firefighter sustained a leg injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The fire was determined to have been caused by wind-driven embers from burning household garbage.
