Grass Fire Endangers Buildings

High Point Fire District responded to a report of a grass fire endangering nearby structures.

Firefighters arrived to find a grass fire impinging on the rear of two storage buildings. Crews from Engine 21 deployed a hose line to suppress the fire, while Engine 51 set up to supply additional water.

The fire was contained before structural damage could occur.

The fire was determined to be caused by wind‑driven embers from burning yard debris, which ignited the surrounding dry grass.
