Head on Crash

Hwy 9 at TB Watts Rd.

High Point Fire District, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded Wednesday morning to a reported two-vehicle crash on Highway 9 in front of the Blue Sky Mart.

Upon arrival, High Point Engine 31 found a head-on collision involving a passenger car and a small pickup truck. A Ruby/Mt. Croghan firefighter who witnessed the crash provided an initial report on patient conditions to arriving units.

Pageland Rescue 1 arrived and assumed patient care while High Point Engines 11, 21, and 31 positioned to block westbound lanes and deployed traffic cones, providing responders a safe work area. Responders also used oil dry to control fluid spills at the scene. Westbound traffic was detoured onto T.B. Watts Road; eastbound traffic remained open.

Lifeguard EMS transported one patient to Atrium Union Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
