Independence Day Celebration

Community Gathering Highlights Fire Safety, Family Fun, and Fireworks

July 4, 2025, 6pm

High Point Fire District, in collaboration with High Point Baptist Church and Sign Master, proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Independence Day Celebration, bringing together hundreds of community members for an evening filled with excitement, education, and entertainment.

Families enjoyed a festive atmosphere complete with classic hot dogs, engaging games, and refreshing water slides. As part of the event, the High Point Fire District presented interactive fire safety demonstrations inside its fire safety trailer. A key highlight was a live fire prop demonstration, generously provided by the South Carolina Firefighters Association.

This educational demonstration featured two identically furnished rooms: one equipped with a home sprinkler system, and one without. Both rooms were set alight to illustrate the lifesaving impact of residential sprinklers. The room with the sprinkler saw the system activate within one minute, swiftly extinguishing the flames. In contrast, the unsprinklered room was fully engulfed in fire within three minutes.

The festivities culminated at 9 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks display, hosted in the Sign Master’s front yard, capping off an unforgettable evening of community spirit and safety awareness.
