Vehicle Crash with Entrapment

Airport Rd. at Hatchery Rd.

High Point Fire District, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a reported two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Airport Road and Hatchery Road. High Point Engines 51 and 21 arrived on scene and found a collision involving a car and a pickup truck. The driver of the car was trapped and unable to exit the vehicle.

Both High Point engines established blocking positions on either side of the scene to create a safe working area for emergency personnel. Firefighters stabilized the car using cribbing and deployed hydraulic rescue tools. Firefighters and EMS personnel removed the trapped driver from the vehicle and transferred the patient to the awaiting ambulance for further evaluation and transport by Lifeguard EMS.

Preliminary investigation indicates the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling on Hatchery Road pulled into the path of a pickup truck traveling on Airport Road.
