High Point Fire District responded to a woods fire located on Graham Lane. Upon arrival, Brush 23 found approximately five acres of woodland burning, posing a threat to several nearby homes.

In addition to the woodland fire, debris from a demolished mobile home was also burning. Crews from Brush 23 and Brush 13 worked to establish a containment line, cutting off the fire’s advance toward the homes. Engine 21 and Tanker 22 focused their efforts on extinguishing the burning debris pile to prevent any potential fire spread.

A dozer from South Carolina Forestry was deployed to create a fire break around the blaze.

The fire was caused by a lightning strike during a storm the previous evening.
