High Point Fire District responded to a reported woods fire off McManus Road. Engine 41 arrived to find a wind-driven woods fire threatening several mobile homes. Crews from Engine 41 deployed a hose line to protect the residences while Engines 11 and 51 operated their deck guns to attack the advancing head of the fire through the timber.

South Carolina Forestry responded with a dozer and established a plowed firebreak around the perimeter. The fire was determined to have been caused by wind-driven embers from a rubbish fire earlier in the day that rekindled.
