Grass Fire

Cross Roads Church Rd.

Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 4:48 p.m.

High Point Fire District responded to a report of a brush and grass fire on Cross Roads Church Road.

Engine 21 and Brush 23 arrived on scene to find a wind‑driven grass and brush fire advancing toward a residence and an adjacent wood line. Brush 23 utilized its front turret to stop the fire’s advance across the lawn and into the woods while Engine 21 deployed a hose line to protect the home.

Tanker 22 arrived and supplied additional water to support suppression efforts.

The fire was determined to have started when wind‑blown embers from a fire pit ignited the adjacent lawn.
