High Point Fire responded to a report of a tractor-trailer fire on Flint Ridge Church Road. Engine 41 arrived to find a trailer loaded with hay burning beneath a power line. The driver had successfully pulled the tractor away before the fire could spread to the cab.
Crews from Engine 41 advanced two handlines and began fire attack. Due to water supply needs, tankers were requested from Lanes Creek Fire Department. High Point and Lanes Creek tankers rotated, dumping into a portable holding tank that served as Engine 41’s water source. An excavator was employed to pull burning hay from the trailer so firefighters could wet it down and fully extinguish hotspots.
Crews remained on scene for over three hours to ensure the fire was completely out and the area was safe. There were no reported injuries.
